Latinamerican Musicians and creators
Heitor Villa-lobos
Maybe Villa-lobos was a most important Brazilian
composer of classic music at the twenty century. To musicals, it was hard to find
him date of birth but finally they can say: Heitor Villa-lobos was born in Rio
de Janeiro in 5 March, 1887.
His music, it’s very particular because he was
influence of the popular music of Rio but in 1922 Villa-lobos went to study at
the Paris Conservatoire as a result Heitor faced the academy. As consequence he
was a composer influenced by two different worlds but compatibles.
His music catalog it’s very extensive and very
versatile. He was music to solo instruments and to strange ensembles. He was
music to orchestra and solo instrument like guitar, cello, piano and particularly
Harmonica. An addition, His music melodies have the character typical of the Brazilian
folks. “The Villa-lobos language is surrounded by the Americanist accent,
namely for the assimilation of the environment.” (Juan Horrego Salas; Figura, obra
y estilo)
Heitor Villa-lobos is my favourite Latin-American
composer because he rescues the important of Brazilian folk and He developed
his talent in the academy. Finally, he died in 17 November, 1959.
